The Copland Heritage Association has announced the recipients of the 1999 Aaron Copland Awards. Seven Composer were selected out of over one hundred applicants from 31 states to live and work at The Copland House in Cortland Manor NY, one at a time, for one to two months.

The 1999 recipients are Eric Samuelson of New York NY, Gordon Beeferman of New York NY, David Schober of Ann Arbor MI, Pierre Jalbert of Stafford TX, Jason Roth of New York NY, Ofer Ben-Amots of Colorado Springs CO, and Dan Coleman of New York NY. The members of the jury were Ned Rorem, Samuel Adler, Chen Yi, and Louis Karchin.
